You could also use this to check on a new car before purchase to see the problems incured!

Not unless the owner decides to give you the mot number or v5 slip to check first

worked fine and found out everything i needed as the guy i brought my car off is messing me and will not get the service history of previous owner x

Damn!? My car has failed all it's previous MOT tests, it's been MOT'd and fixed again after each fail, but it never had a fault free test! Here are a few common faults:

Nearside Outer Front constant velocity joint gaiter insecurely mounted to its housing
Rear Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases
Nearside Front position lamp(s) not in good working order (not working) (1.1.4a)
Nearside Front Direction indicator not in good working order (not working) (1.5.A1b)
Rear fog lamp switch faulty (1.1.7b)
Nearside Headlamp insecure (1.2.4b)
Nearside Headlamp not in good working order adversely affecting beam image (1.2.4a)
Offside Headlamp aim too low (1.6)

Those things come up a LOT of times

Strange thing is my car runs absolutely fine right now and doesn't have any real problems...
