Exclamation help! juddering and loss of power

hi all found loads of other threads but noting on my car.... i have a 1.2 16v sxi 2000 w reg. only had it a couple of weeks now but noticed in 1st it sometimes had a sort of lag no power for 1-2 seconds then no problems.

today i was driving along stopped at lights and revs droped to 300-400 rpm i set of and it would of been quicker to get out and push it struggles rite through the revs and gears and now occasionally gets a momentary boost of power then struggles again, idles at 400 and often cuts out

any ideas?

i have read about disconnecting negative on battery, does this just reset ECU as i have just done this will reconnect in bout 30 mins and see if it makes any difference.

I'd guess if your having idle problems... then you might need a new idle control valve, or give your current one a good clean

plus you should check all the oil breather pipes, give them a good clean and change nay thats perished. could also be the EGR valve sticking open. give that a clean and if i remember rightly it will have 2 coolant hoses going in to it so could be messy. its down the right hand side of engine between the coolant tank and the oil filter.

Alright mate
Crankshaft sensor is normally the starting problem you have
The loss of power could be your headgasket but its unlikely and unlucky lol
Loss of power could be an unbalance air/fuel ratio causing it to fail to accelerating then that would be your mas air flow (maf) that controlls the airflow

it could also be a Fuel pump, Take to garage check for missfires

dought its head gasket as experianced this before the coolant is a bit gunky but think its just old no mayo on oil filler or smoke etc.

is pumping fuel and got preasure in the rail

things changed:
idle control valve
Mass airflow sensor
crank sensor

disconnected battery to reset ecu

the reason it wouldnt start was due to cylinder 1 spark plug having a piece of metal welded to the electrode causing it to earth and flood.

dont need a garage to tell me its misfiring can hear it and it does so next i am thinking change plugs if that doesnt work il change coil pack

any suggestions welcome. cheers kyle
