it is the bit that connects your drive shafts to your engine.
they will be behind the wheel at the engine end of the drive shaft and will have a black rubber boot on it, if the boot is torn then it will be the cv joint causing the noise. i will try get you a pic. constant velocity joints - haynes Manual

i had a look at the camshaft and there is no torn pieces or holes in the rubber, and the camshaft seems to look straight, the wheel has no play in it when i jacked it up and it spins without noise, i had a word wid me m8 at work and he says could be the break caliper is loose, so Saturday ill have to jack it up again and take the wheel off....
whilst im there ill check the cv joints, if you could get a pic that would be wonderful, thanks |

ok, now this is getting on my nerves, i spent the last hour out there jacked the car up, took the wheels of, checked the c v joints, drive shaft, track rod ends, calipers, disks, exhaust, the bit where the shocks are bolted on (sorry not sure of the name), i checked the rear drums, made sure all the wheels and bolts were done up tight, im running out of ideas, do you have any other options or opinions, thanks for your help

gaffer everything down in the car mate that should sort it
worked for me. ok my problem was slightly differant it was just the clips from the pacel shalf bounding around in the boot [had to take them off as speakers where too heavy] this might sound rearly simple and you might have done it but if you havn't it could be worth a god have you just opened up your bonnet and tired gently wigerling differant parts? just a thought you might be lucky and fine the problem. good luck |
