Exclamation Knocking noise from the rear of your car

Sound familiar?
This is a very commen problem on the corsa B. It is usually your backbox pipe knocking on the rear beam. You can solve this by getting smaller exhaust rubbers, buying a d.i.y exhaust clamp and place it into the heatshield or modify the rubbers on the mid-section.

Another method is to loosen the 'u' clamp around the backbox, push the backbox up at the join the the centre section, then re-clamp.

Hope this helped, and if you have a problem, use the search button to check if someone has asked the same question as you ...

Yeah i bought a clamp from halfords which is attached to a strip of rubber and then long piece of metal. I attached the clamp to the exhaust at the peak of the bend where it goes round the back axle and then found where the heat sheild is screwed on and attahced the metal within the heat sheld and bolted back up.

I've just had a new mid and back fitted and the problem has gone anyway. No more knocks, just hope it lasts.

Give it time...

Easiest way I found was putting in an extra mounting point in the recess...

just wrap some rubber round your exhaust where it hits the beam so then the rubber hits the beam

Mine was damaged in an accident and the replacement didn;t have this issue. Although it was a problem beforehand.

Mine was knocking on the rear beam aswell. I used a exhaust rubber ring (not sure if that what it is actually called) instead of the standard rubber it worked a dream. Hope this helps.
