Finally got round to fitting my amp the other day, nothing exciting but i thought id include loads of pictures for reference to people who want to know how to wire in their sounds. Iv lost my upload cable for my phone
so have had to borrow the misses Its a JBL item (GTO2060) good quality and the most powerful i could get for the money, 2x80wrms for £60 which i thought was pretty good! ![]() Its a simple 2 channel amp to run my new components but its bloody huge!!! i couldnt believe the size when i opened the box lol, this sorta narrowed down the places where i could mount it. So in the end i decided to mount it on the little shelf in the boot. A shame because it looks good when its all lit up. ![]() Was a typical case of feeding wire through the body, which is definitely the most time consuming part of the hole process. I took out the sills so i could run the power cable nice and snug uunder the carpet. ![]() I then wire the brushed one of the holes in the boot, i removed the paint off to ensure i got a good earth. ![]() The speaker cable, RCAs and remote were all feed through the centre off the car, i didnt have enough cable to run round the sills so just kept it simple, it kept it away for the power supply. ![]() To simplify the job i used the existing speaker wires which run through the doors and dash, it was simply a case of stripping and crimping the right wires after the ISO connector block. ![]() Before putting everything back together i thought it would be wise to test that it all worked (iv learnt to test things first... the hard way lol) so whacked on the ignition and tunes and guess what? yep nothing happened checked all the connection and realised that i wasnt gettin power to the amp, i had a funny feeling it would be the remote which wouldnt work and it proved to be true, i switched the wires over to the amp motor wire and it worked. ![]() Sorted! I hid all the wires under the carpet and went to screw the amp down, not payin attention i was drilling away and realised that the full tank was directly underneath...f*ck luckily i didnt go through to pierce the tank but i sure as hell chucked the drill away quickly. Instead i just velcroed the thing to the floor. It works well and doesnt move, trust me i tried i was out drifting on sat night and it didnt budge ![]() The sound quality is brilliant, much improvement over running on standard power, the obvious improvement was the bass, very punchy, the highs were much better too the tweeters were really kicking in. Sound perception had also improved and gave it a nice surround sound feel. A recommended setup for not alot of money Last edited by Clutch; 29-04-2008 at 04:42 PM.. |

i wouldnt say its glazed it, its given it a great glossy finish on it though, i like the reflectiveness of it, if thats a word
would be ideal for lighter coloured cars as its harder to get the same effect. In low light conditions it really brings out the colour, the colour is a pearl paint the base coat is green with a blue overcoat, looks good but colour match is very hard ![]() New pic ![]() ![]() Last edited by Clutch; 11-05-2008 at 01:59 PM.. |

Go over it slowly lol, my friends S13 is very very low and he doesnt have major issues, i just love slammed cars. Currently fabricating a sump and downpipe guard at work for added protection, i doubt it will be that low but id like it too be
