what are the difference between good and cheap filters do they make that much of a difference to oil and how long its lasts and how well it works?

They can make a difference to the filtration, we always say as long as the filter is OEM spec and approved then all is good.

For the engine a good 5w-40 synthetic, plenty to choose from. Fuchs, Motul, Mobil, Silkolene etc here http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

For the gearbox you need the GL4 80w gear oil.

Have a look at the likes of the Amosil MTF and the Redline MTL here http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-670-75w-80-75w-85-mtfs.aspx
