vauxcheck diagnostics software ??

hi, does anyone know where i can download a trial version of the vauxhall diagnostics software called vauxcheck. I have just replaced the head gasket on a corsa 1.2 16v v reg 1999 ( x12xe engine ), the management light is on and although i have my elm327 interface it will not detect the ecu protocol. I have been told that the elm327 will work with vauxcheck software but i am unsure and i am reluctant to buy the software if it doesn't work !!

Many thanks

Andy

I got one which is similar to vauxcheck, works on all cars that have an OBDII connector, it shows you how ur spark plugs are working, ur MAF, engine coolant, air intake etc...

screen shots

I dont know about the downloading procedures on this forum so I will only post the link once i get the green light from Admin

if it is free software then go for it. otherwise provide a link to where it can be legal purchased...

or expect me to hit you with a ban

that looks useful, do you have to plug a lead into the ecu or something into a laptop ?

@ just incredible, which version of pcmscan are you using ? i have version 2.1.1 but it wont communicate with the ecu because it cant detect the protocol.

For all other people that are interested in this, i bought an elm327 interface with an obd2 lead and a usb lead. the usb lead plugs into a laptop at 1 end and the other end plugs into the interface, the obd2 lead plugs into the diagnostics socket of the corsa located in the fuse box, the other end of the obd2 lead also plugs into the interface. The interface then has communication l.e.d's on it showing data travelling back and forth to the laptop. There are many different types of software that will work with the elm327 interface but most of the software is written for cars other than vauxhall but there is a company called Gendan located in Wales that have developed software to work on vauxhalls called vauxcheck and also enginecheck. As i said i am reluctant to buy the software if it is of no use to me, hence the question at the beginning of this topic.

With these types of software and the hardware it is possible to read data from the ecu and clear the stored fault codes which will reset the management light. it is also possible to read real time data with the car engine running and check your performance etc.

check out www.palmerperformance.com where you can freely download such softwares which will give you limited access to the capabilities of the program, to get full capability you will need to buy the license from them but before you do it is important to know if it will interact with your ecu. if you download the software and run it you will get a general picture of what it can do.

Thanks

Its version 1.4.3

u can get a bluetooth dongle, so u can plug the diagnostic tool in ur car while checking the progress in ur bedroom PC

it just saves the hassle of carrying a laptop and wires

when i get home i'll provide the link to who ever wants it

How much do the obd2 leads cost to connect to a laptop?
Can I get them off e-bay?

I've got a diagnostics plug on my '99 corsa envoy. Would that maybe show up why my speedo isn't working? or does it more just check on the engine.

yes you can use the tech2 interface but it will only do vauxhalls. the elm327 works with a whole range of software and according to the gendan website it will work with vauxcheck on vauxhall and opel cars from approx 1997 to 2003. i think the earlier vauxhalls used a different data link connectoer and are not obd2 compliant (possibly tech1). i bought my elm327 this seller on ebay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/LONELEC but i have found that gendan are selling an elm327 interface and the vauxcheck software on there too http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Engine-Diagnos...QQcmdZViewItem . i bought it to sort out a problem on a picasso and it told me that the cam speed sensor was faulty. it is a fantastic little device.
