This is a great thread. Some really useful info on it. I'll look into getting it for my car as I reckon it will be really handy.

I have emailed gendan who developed the vauxcheck software to see if it will work with the car i am working on, just waiting for a reply. you can download various other software but it will not work with your vauxhall because it can not recognise the protocol that the ecu uses. It will have to be vauxcheck. If they reply and say that it will work with this corsa then i am going to buy it because i need to get this car sorted. I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Thanks

Andy

Update

I have bought the software from gendan via ebay and it does indeed connect to and interact with the ecu of my corsa. it came back with 6 stored code faults that were registered when the head gasket failed, so i did a reset which turned the management light off then started the car and the management light came back on within less than 30 seconds. I read the codes agian and this time there was only 1 code stored which is the egr valve showing as malfunction, so tomorrow i will remove and clean the valve in the hope that it has been fouled up with water from the head gasket problem, I'll then reset the management light and hope it doesn't come back on and if it does i'll be going to the scrappers i guess.

Hello lee, i bought an elm327 interface some time ago in order to check the fault codes on a citroen picasso it worked a treat, the elm works with several softwares but none of them would work with this corsa i am working on, so i emailed the guy who i bought the elm from and he directed me to gendan who sell a small piece of software called vauxcheck that has done the trick for me. my elm came with an obd2 lead and a usb lead.

What are the details of your car lee inc the engine code ?

It was a 1998 1.6 corsa sport with an x16xe engine in, now it will be getting a c20let engine in.
Thanks.

Hi, I have been trying for a long time to get an elm interface working with my other halves 1.0 corsa.

I too was reluctant to buy the vauxcheck software, and tried the scanmaster-elm software too, but unfortunately it only allowed part reading of the fault codes, to read them properly you needed to purchase the software.

Anyways does anyone know if PCMScan will actually work with a corsa b 1.0 (2000) as it does seem like a good bit of software.
