Smile White Vauxhall Corsa B build up

Hey guys. Thought it was about time I got a project thread started on here for you all to read

It all started back in 2007 when I was 15. I'd always loved the idea of having a little car to have as a project to do on the weekend and around school. My parents were never too keen on the idea but they came round to the idea eventually and agreed that I could start looking for a cheap 1.0 or 1.2.

So the hunt began! I originally wanted a White mk2 Nova but after months of searching I couldnt find a mint one locally. So I decided to look at corsa B's. Went to look at a few one weekend and spotted the perfect car! 1.0 12v, Very tidy, well maintained etc and had great potential. So a deal was done and took the car away the next day for £775! To say I was happy was an understatement

Heres how it looked the day I got it home

Not much change for a few months until I'd finished my GCSE exams. With nearly 9 weeks off school on got a summer job on a building site doing so labour work to raise some money to get the project started

I decided to get the car fully colour coded as I wasnt keen on the black trim. All the bodywork was carried out by Spice Paint who done me a great deal and the finish was flawless! As well as this I purchased some brand new MHW smoked rear lights and a de badged grill

Had a genuine GSI spoiler sprayed up as well and was fitted shortly after. A pair of DEPO smoked headlights were also purchased around this time

Was coming along nicely now. However the standard height of the car was letting the look down. I spotted a Jamex 60mm kit on Corsasport for a good price so got it bought

needed some rimmage now! wanted something different so got a set of 15" tigra alloys off ebay for £50! They were fully refurbed in Rover Hurricane Grey and wrapped in 195/45/15 tyres

Around this time I also fitted a few little things such as smoked side repeaters, GM mudflaps, irmscher grill badge and GM tailored mats. The next big thing for the car was an exhaust system as the standard one was blowing badly. I wanted something loud! went for a sportex back box with a 4" style tip and a remus 'race tube'. Sounds very nice indeed!

Heres a few pics of how the car looked at this point

I then turned 17 back in February! So the car was MOT'd, taxed, and insured so that I could start to learn in it. Heres a pic taken after my first ever drive in the car I didnt want to stop lol

Next up was the interior! Being as the is only a basic merit it came with some horrid seats grey with lovely pink and green spots. This were changed for some much nicer post 97 sport seats

With PVS getting closer and closer I had a mad moment and decided to change the cars appearance drastically. A mint set of white 16" speedlines with 195/40/16 tyres were purchased along with some Steinmetz replica skirts. Heres how it looked all fitted!

Thanks to my dad I was able to take the corsa to a couple of shows. Heres some pics of it at PVS and Billing last year

Interior still wasnt looking to brilliant with the grey door cards so my mate managed to find me some black door pockets, door cards and a glove box An SRI steering wheel was also fitted along with some richbrook door pins, and gloss anthracite door handle surrounds

The car sat at 60mm for a while but it just didnt look low enough with the 195/40 tyres. I got a custom set of -100mm rear springs made up to get it sitting nice and low on the rear. As well as this a colour coded boot lock surround and xenon headlights were fitted.

Then in september I passed my test. First time with 2 minors This meant I could finally drive my corsa after it sitting on the drive for over a year and a half. I was loving it! Got some nice pictures of it in a better location:

and thats pretty much it guys! Its looking a bit worse for wear at the moment as a scooter recently went into the back of me, getting sorted by the insurance though in the next couple of weeks. As well as this I popped and kerbed one of speedlines so that getting repowdercoated and a tyre tyre fitted at the minute Raised back up to -60mm as well as my mot is tommorrow, wish me luck!

Hope you've enjoyed reading it. Many more plans still to come so expect updates soon!

Cheers guys. Future plans for the car before pvs are

- Back bumper respray
- Bonnet respray
- Semi-Smooth Boot
- Richbrook gear knob
- New Gear Gaiters
- Wind Deflectors
- Alloy wheel refurb
- Front Coilovers for some extra slammage
- Transfer my private plate onto it
- Single wiper conversion maybe

Bobby, I got the mats from my local vauxhall dealer and the mudflaps were from a member off corsasport

Very impressed! I want to get a white Corsa myself and aim to get it looking pretty similar to yours.

1 question... where'd you get that funky little yellow badge from? Not seen it before and I quite like.

Good luck on the MOT my last one cost me just over £300 :/ I probably got milked for my money though.

I think the interior gets overlooked too much tbh, nobody that appreciates a good interior? Personally I like to improve what I can see first rather than what everyone else can see.

saveoursouls, I understand what you mean mate. The interior is always a key feature of a car. Wouldnt say I've overlooked it though. Heres a picture of the old interior against the new one. Quite a lot has been changed

Old

New one. Consists of Corsa sport seats, black door cards and pockets, SRI steering wheel, Anthracite handles surrounds, GM Vauxhall Mats, Richbrook door pins and more
