Hi guys,

I started my journey yesterday evening and the first 2 minutes of driving my corsa c 1.7cdti sri went fine.
then all power dropped and there was no response from the accelerator pedal and the engine management light came on.
It was just stuck at 1.5k revs.
so i managed to drive it home using my maad clutch skills and i left it there.

then when i got home from my outing i had a look under the bonnet unplugged my mass air flow sensor and plugged it back in and the car seemed to work fine.

I did not use the car today, but i tried to make a journey in the car again this evening and i have the same problem. after 2 minutes the throttle just drops and sits at 1.5k revs.
i noticed that when i brake the revs drop below 1k if that helps.

sooo does anyone know what my problem is and how to fix it? please?

I took the air flow sensor off and took it inside to clean it.
I then proceeded to look at it before deciding i dont know what to do and putting it back on.
it now works like normal as i took it for a spin for a few miles.

i still dont trust the car tho, it is my mrs daily so need to make sure it doesnt happen again.
any ideas?

i took off the air flow meter and literally clean the outside in the house.
put it back on a few hours later when i gave up and it has worked ever since
