My new brake pads just arrived in the post today. I would really like to try and change them myself and dont really wanna pay 50 quid to get em done. I read Lee's post on changing brake pads, but is there an easier way to do it without taking off the caliper and messing with the brake valve?

Cheers

sometimes u can get away with removing the top caliper bolt (usualy 13mm) and use the bottom bolt as a hing and fold the caliper down keep and eye on how the old pads are fited and pull the out, use a big pair of grip or anythink similer to push the piston back inside the caliper but make sure u take the lid off the fluid resivuer(sp) and the pop the new pads in place if you get stuck there should be some instructions with the pads makes sure everythink is done back up proply and then make sure you top up fluid if needed thay will take a hour or so to bed to the disk.

also i forgot to add try using so copper slip on the back of the pads to stop the from sticking next time you need too change them.

hope this helps

edit: stand corrected 6mm hex key/socket
