Just finishing the c20let, car starts everytime, it also cuts out after about 5 seconds everytime.

Ecu light isn't coming on, deposited the bulb working?

Boost pipes are on but not clamped down (awaiting clamps)

MAF sensor is facing the correct way and plugged in.

My opcome can't seem to connect to car?

My wideband (fuel/air mixture gauge) is reading 22.9, which is compleltly on the fuel side meaning its to lean?


Ideas? Running out of time now

All the earth straps on? I had similar issues with a missing earth strap.

Plugs 1+4 are soaked

2+3 are clean

check injector wiring, check dizzy cap, check your getting a spark.

Dad checked for sparks as I was cranking, said all 4 sparked with an old plug in the leads.

I peeled off playic cover above injectors
All wiring looks intact.


What am
I checking for in dizzy cap? Never had one before. Just dirty points is assume?

Rob got it in one - that dizzy cap is shagged. The missing terminals are why there's no power running to the missing cylinders.

I'm going to put on now, old stuff just looks like corrosion

Yes - but they're burnt to hell and back.

Try a new cap - see the difference.

yeh, they are corroded to shit, but they're not broken

The black stuff on them is where the rotor has been arcing - that burns away the contact. You can try cleaning them but you'll be widening the gap the power had to jump across - and air is a poor conductor!

There's too much metal missing to make good contact - time for a new cap.

mark get some brake cleaner and a flat head screwdriver. sorted mine on the old 8v when i had this problem.

As a temp fix, then buy a new one lol

Don't be so pessimistic - a new dizzy cap will make a massive difference.
