Hi, I have recently rebuilt my c20xe and am currently trying to time the engine and am having a few difficulties 
I have got all the marks where i think they should be but the engine stops in both directions when turned over. Here are some pics to show where im at.
(Sorry for the appalling picture quality, my phone is crap)
Both cam pulley marks in line with the marks on the cover.
Crank pulley at 6 o'clock
This is how far it turns before it stops when i go left...
...and right
Am i doing something wrong? One thought i had was maybe the crank pulley mark needed to be lined up with the spike on the back plate as this doesn't seem to be used? Any help would be appreciated
