I am building up to changing a timing chain and tensioner and have looked at the youtube Aguila video as a guide.

What is the need for a cam timing disc for doing this job please?

Presumably the cams and will be locked into position before the chain gets removed? I am not sure I understand why the timing disc would be needed.

If anyone has done this job I would like to hear their comments :thumbs_up:

You need the camtiming disc so you can set the cam pickup back up as you will be removing the sprockets off the end of the camshafts so the disc is adjustable. You can then drop the chain out once you have removed the sprockets. Also. Use the original spacers from the middle of the camshaft sprockets on the new sprockets or you will end up with P0340 code. Im not sure if this applys if you use a genuine kit. I think this applys only to aftermarket ones but just make sure the spacers are the same size.

Thanks mark...I think I understand. That's useful info about the spacers too.
