Hello, I recently bought a Corsa 2011 1.4 5dr petrol. It was all smooth and fine all of a sudden now when I switch to rever gear it makes a grinding noise. I'm not stepping on the accelerator or neither the car is on a slope. Any suggestions what this could be. Just worried the clutch would go soon. Meaning to take to the garage, worried it would be a whole clutch system change and just bought this car of someone else, so not financially in good place to do that.

Vauxhall gearboxes have always being rather 'tight' in my opinion and it's one echoed by a number of other people too. When I worked for vauxhall most of the car I got into first gear and reverse needed a fair bit of force to engage them, just what they are like.
One trick I learnt from my driving instructor is to put it into first then reverse and it's a whole lot easier to do and with less noise.
