My daughter brought her 57 plate Corsa D round today. She's been having to top coolant up for a while but now the cap on the reservoir has come apart - the yellow threaded portion has come off leaving the pressure relief part in the tank.
No probs I thought, it'll easily pull out. Wrong. Black part with copper centre disc is stuck fast. Maybe suction holding it in I thought so disconnected small pipe (heater return? from tank. No change, but neither can I top up through this hole as there is some sort of valve, I assume, in the top of the reservoir.

I don't want to lose more water by disconnecting main hose from bottom of tank.

Anyone come across this problem before and managed to overcome it?

Havent came across this before but, I would just disconnect the tank but keep attached to the hoses (if possible) then get a suitable container to empty contents into (hence you dont lose coolant from the tank.

Undo the tank and either attempt to get the parts out and replace the cap or replace the whole thing..

Hope this helps.
