Corroded cable?

I've been having issues with intermittent starting in my corsa c 1.2 sxi 55 plate. Starts first try first thing in the morning, once it gets really years outside or the engine bay gets really warm due to the morning drove anytime after that for a few hours the car will not crank right away. Could take many tries. Tested the battery and that's spot on. Changed the crankshaft sensor. I've read that a possible fix is to run a positive directly from the battery to the starter.. can anyone vouch that works? Don't want to fork out for a new starter if it's only a corroded cable or loose cable. Any help us greatly appreciated thanks
