pretty self explanatory, i pull the shitty plastic latch and i can hear it doing something under the bonnet but it wont pop, didnt want to pull any harder as it felt like it was guna come off so i assumed it was broken, any suggestions?

mine sometimes does the same. i think the cable has been stretched. may beable to tighten it not too sure. i have order a new cable though.

How much did that cost you bud? and how do you getit open if the lever isnt working?

to open it i got some pliers onto the cable behind the lever and pulled.

also the cable only cost me £7

brilliant thanks for that, i assum i can just jack it up and replace it myself, it seems like a simple enough job, its only a 1ltr so plenty of space to manouvre in engine bay

Mybold corsa done this to get it open I had to pull the cable and have someone push and pull I'm the bonnet then it opens. Cable is a piece of piss to change 15 minute job

It's funny, I had someone at work ask me about a bonnet release today!

Same happened on my dads escort van, one of use pulled the lever, the other pushed and pulled the bonnet

You sometimes find it's just the clamp that holds the outer sheath to the front crossmember that has slipped - which means the inner cable isn't moving enough. Once it's open you may find adjusting it does the job.
