Hi. I have a 1997 Corsa B 1.2 8v. I only have the car about a month and a half and i have noticed it is really hard to run compared to other petrol cars my mates have. I have put up 1000 or 1500 miles since i got the car, and since then I have put in new spark plugs, air filter and a new exhaust from the cat converter back. The converter itself is in good nick. When the car is idling, it judders and splutters (not as bad since i put the exhaust on), but it can still be heard. Also when the car is idling in the same place it smells of petrol when I open the door or stand beside it. I never noticed it when driving but when mates are driving behind me they say then can smell it in their cars. Also I'm getting bad mileage out of my petrol, about 130-140 miles to 3/4 of a tank (roughly 35 miles to €10 - which is really bad). Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks for help in advance.

check to see if your tank isn't leaking, They rust around the seam and leak .

is there any residue on the back or the car?

Tank is a relativly easy job i've done one.

Just dont do it in blustering gales when its icy and you have flu as it wont be too pleasent
