I have a 1.2 16v X reg corsa that won't start. I have had the fuel pump checked (works ok) , I've replaced the plugs and checked the leads and DIS pack (all fine). The car will start with a tow - after setting off on tow it only takes about a yard and the car starts and runs with no problems until we turn off the ignition. Then it win't start again. It has a water filled battery which is topped up. One or two people have suggested that it may be the crank sensor - can anyone advise ?

If the crank sensor is busted then the fuel relay won't activate, so it wouldn't start off a tow.

When you turn the ignition key is it cranking over properly. A weak battery could be the simple answer. They can crank but if the voltage is dropping on the load of cranking then the ignition is weak and it won't fire.
