Hi, I have a 1997 1.4 8v
My engine light came on the other day on my car when it was hot and had been traveling approx 15mile, and when I'd switched the car off n it had cooled it had gone off, then it came on again after tracing the same distance.
I plugged my code reader in, and it says it egr position faults, so am guessing the egr valves u/s
I was wondering if its needed on the 8v? It doesn't seem to do anything with the exhaust gases, but sits on the inlet manifold.

Buy a blank off eBay, take the egr off, put the blank in between the inlet and egr and bolt back down. just removing the egr will thow up a code so it needs to be there and the plugged in.

Will it not have any performance or running issues? And would it effect my mpg?

Make it run better if anything, done it to the gf's corsa b 1.4 8v and no issues. MPG doesn't seem affected mate
