Hi,

for some reason the engine on my x reg Corsa 1.2 keeps running even when I remove the key?

Is this common and a cheap fix or something more?

It doesn't happen every time I use the car, more like every other time

i think it sommot to do with excessive carbon build up in the engine. some Redex might help

An overrun is usually down to carbon build up. Put some Redex in your petrol, just less than twice the recommended dose, it may well do the job for you.
