Hi People
This is my first post.so go easy on me.my corsa is a bit on the old side and has developed a bit of a starting problem.the battery goes flat after a couple of days.my dad has checked the fanbelt and changed the batterry but its still leaving me stranded.
can any help before i give in and put it to a garage.
its a 93 1.4i

Firstly make sure nothing is been left on, example lights or radio. Then it could either be the battery or the alternator. If you can try borrow another battery off someone and see if that one stays charged up, if it doesnt it will more than likely be the alternator. If it does you will need a new battery.

Daft question: How far do you travel in it? sometimes if you only travel short distances the alternator doesn't have time to recharge the battery. Other than that it's a new, or reconditioned (take the old one in) alternator.

Yer good point made by penfold, if you are constantly doing short distance journeys with lights on then the battery isnt going to recharge.
