Hi All

first post so here's hoping...

The car had a new OIL PUMP and CAM BELT fitted.. best part of a grand (ouch)
but after this work had been done the

engine light is always on

it rattles like a tractor (garage said tappets/hydraulics) but the car didnt rattle before

but MORE worrying the car has no power at "move off" its auto gear box
and it slips through the gears making the engine rev as it hits first..not progressively i might add in one jolt

can ANYONE shed any light /tips on what might be going on
any recommendations

perhaps its the transmission fluid??

Hi your engine is running in whats known as limp mode the only way you will find the problem is get the garage to put a code scanner on the car and read the fault codes that will show you whats wrong and you take it from there

My guess would be a senser theres loads of them on the car and they probably disturbed one why fitting the cam belt

Take it back to the garage.
If it wasn't like that before they need to investigate it.

It would be helpful to say which engine it is.
