Hi all,
Please Help! For some reason when I start my car up in the morning, it doesn't sound as if the engine has fired itself properly. It shudders and sounds as if it's struggling a bit, then eventually normalises. This has been happening since the weather got cold. I've changed my distributor and the HT leads. I am now thinking of changing my sparkplugs again. I changed them when I first bought the car in April this year. I'm just wondering what it might be. I've also had an oil change. Thanks for reading.

There may be a problem with your automatic choke. I'm only taking a wild swing here but it would explain why it's only started happening whilst it's become cold.

I'm not 100% sure. Someone like deathscythe would be able to tell you more.

I had this problem on my old car. I replaced coil, HT leads, spark plugs, and the ICV (idle control Valve) Which fixed the problem for me. If you have done that, it might be worth getting your engine compression tested, to see if all the clyinder's are running correctly, as this would have been my next step.

Hey guys,
Thanks for your replies. My car sorted itself out! I am really confused! I think it is because i gave it a really long run yesterday & I think i dried up some moisture that was lingering. It's been quite wet by me, and my problem as only just started since the wet mornings came about. But all okay now. Bought new HT leads, sparkplugs & everything too! Bloody car :D

Still happening - Jeezzz!

Just when I thought my Corsa was okay again, it started being a pest again this morning. It sounds as if it's only firing on 3 cylinders my dad says. I'll have to change my sparkplugs & if that doesn't solve the problem - go with your advice

Make sure all your ht leads are connected properly as that could cause a similar problem.

Guys, thanks. I've changed the rotor too! Turns out my spark plugs were really knackered! I'd worn them right down! New sparkplugs now thanks to daddy lol. Cheers people!
