Went to a cruise last night, first time I've ever been to one. I was well impressed! :D Apparently there was over 400 people there and judging by how many people and cars were there I can believe it. LOADS of lush cars all around, then they headed for the big open lorry park and the fun began. Drag races between cars, burnouts, donuts, then there were the front wheel drive cars attempting to do donuts driving forward which was funny lol. It was at Exeter services last night (28th), I don't suppose anyone from here went as not many members are from down this way but did anyone here happen to go to that last night? If so what did you think?

You can have both legal and non-legal cruises. They generally tend to become illegal when people start doing burnouts and other random stuff in their cars.

"Southend"......where is that? No I'm sorry I didn't take any pics :( There were people from Fast Car magazine there, I was told Max Power were there too although I didn't see anyone from Max Power. The police turned up, but went again after a few mins, then 2 riot vans turned up, not sure why because there wasn't any trouble. There were also people from clubs too, "Street Stylers Southwest" was in one of the car windows that I remember. Definitely something I'd like to go to again! :D

Yeah the height is a problem, I've been told by someone who reckons he's a mechanic that if you lower corsas much more than 30-40mm you start running into problems. Something along the lines of if you go lower the engine is out of line with the driveshaft and its all at an angle to each other. I don't have a clue but it sounds like it could happen, what would happen if it was at an angle like that all the time?

Well that sounds like a load of sh!te to me. I'm onto my second lowered corsa, the 1st I had lowered at 60mm for 3 years and never had a problem. The most recent has been lowered anything between 50-80mm (not sure exactly as it's coilovers) and again it's totally fine.

Going too low with just springs is a problem as the shocks will bottom out.

Best way to go really low is with coilovers (as th shocks have greater travel), then you can adjust the height to get it right for how you want it

With regard to the driveshafts, if you look at yours now they point down so as you lower it they will get more level which is better. To get seem pointing up as much as they point down in standard is impossible.`

Well thats good to know because I've got 195/45/16 wheels on my car (getting new ones eventually but the same size) and I was hoping to lower mine about 40-50mm. I'm thinking that would make the wheels fill the arches nicely? Don't really want the wheels tucked in up behind the arches, just so the arch is filled nicely.

Coilovers.......aren't they ultra expensive? Clearly it seems the best way to achieve the look you want but how easy is it to adjust the height once they are fitted?
