Got my hands on a set of Astra SRi alloys yesterday, they are 16'' and have 205/50/R16 tyres so they are a little bigger than the standard SXi alloys and are wider too.

Would this cause any problems when steering like the tyres rubbing or catching in the arches?

Wouldn't have thought so. Some Corsa C's come standard with 16" wheels. My friend had 18's on his.

Okay sounds good. The diameter of the wheels are slightly bigger so the gear ratios might change, I'm more worried about the width as it might rub when turning

You'll notice a bit of a difference in acceleration. But the difference won't be massive. I had 205/45R16's on my Corsa B but didn't have them on long enough to notice.

Yeah should be fine, not worried about acceleration massively.

After all I got the alloys given to me and they have brand new tyres on them!
Should help out with handling a bit
