Well some of you may remember my black corsa project. That is now being stripped. The shell has been donated to a mate and a 2.0 is going in it. But all the bits off it are going on my new shell, (escortgti.com's old one)

Here is a pic of the black sri:

And here is the new shell as it stands pretty much:

So far what ive done is:

Remove the front shocks,
Remove Radiator
Remove Wiring Loom
Split Ball Joints

If its dry tomorrow ill get the driveshafts out, split the gear linkage then lift out the x16 xe block and gearbox. I have a 1.6 8v engine in the garage that ill make an attempt to fit at the weekend, then if i finish that fit the bumper an lights interior etc. The car is lovely to work on. Everything comes off easily and how it should. 10mins to remove front shocks, i wish all cars were like this one.

I have these wheels in the garage aswell so ill throw them on instead of the sri rims:

>>>

Well heres the latest, Finished stripping all the linkages an driveshafts out and finally got the engine out. Engine crane isnt 100% working even though its the first time its been used. Will need to borrow a mates one to get the new engine in. Will hopefully get it started on saturday.

Off college tomorrow, so gona fit the rear lights and interior etc.

Heres the latest pics.

Inside looks a mess atm:

>>>

Well i spent a few hours on it today, and from the back it actually partly resembles a car now:!

Got the rear seats in, bit of a pain to do, fitted all the boot trim along with the rear lights and one rear doorcard.

Plans for tomorrow are to fit front seats, all doorcars, glovebox and give my gsi alloys and the engine bay a good clean. I think we might be making a start on fitting the engine this saturday:)

Btw anyone got any ideas on what to do with the old cables that went to the boot for the wiper an wash wipe etc?

Heres some new pics:

>>>>

well thought id add a wee update, everything has started going pete tong. Mostly with the black sri. Tried to get a window winder off, i pulled it hard and it snapped:( And ive been having problems with trim bits inside.

Felt like sticking the front bumper on out of boredom, excuse me hiding in the pic

>>

Got bored so went out and did some cleaning, cleaned the gsi alloys that im gona stick on and the front suspension, under the bonnet, and the front bumper and grill. No pics of clean engine bay for now though as it was too dark.

Clean stuff:

One cleaned strut, one uncleaned.

Here the engine that im gona stick in.

And here's a pic of the superchip c20 xe ecu i have in my room, wish it was for the 1.6 engine:(

And here's the frog i saw in my garden that distracted me for a while.

Well today i put it back on its wheels as had to get the black one infront of it as its going to a better place on wednesday. I did kill my back right enough. its soo painful. Had to lift a c20 xe, a x16 xe block and gearbox and a 1.8v engine to get the cars moved.

I fitted the grill aswell. I personally think it looks really good the now.

No need to paint the rear drums:)

Soo many stupid wee bits and pieces:

Tow rope hooked up:

Parked out in the street:

Black one half way out:

Black one parked:

Count the Corsas:

Couldnt get the front seats in today as i dont have the right torx bit, will be done in the next few days though.

>>>

aint updated this in a good while,

Well today finally one of the van drivers wasnt busy so off we went up to east kilbride to pick up the engine from gman Got it home an offloaded and here are the pics:

Noticed the throttle body was a bit mingin inside so took it off and gave it a clean
Before:

After:

Before:

After:

Engine an box are covered in a few mm of dirt grease and oil, Im cleaning it off using degreaser, a paint brush, a screw driver and a wire brush, Heres wot one wee section looked like after a rub down, Was shocked when i realised it was actually silver:

A bit more cleaning:

Still got the block to do and a bit more on the box:

Engine meets corsa:

And the opligatory dirty hand shot

>>>>>

Well heres todays update, Im off for 2 weeks and the builders kick me out of bed at silly times of the morning so im getting alot of time to work on the car.

Here's some pics from before thought that i havent added,

Front Seats finally in:

Its this low without an engine:

I need to buy clocks badly:lol:

Anyway todays progress:

Removed bonnet, bumper and grill to make it easier putting the engine in:

Fitted Radiator an Fan:

Finished degreasin block and sump and greabox, gearbox came up well, and i treated it with this:

Will give it a second coat tomorrow possibly but i dont like the black, think i might redo it all silver apart from the sump. Ordered a big tub of silver hammerite aswell anyway.

Had to move the car right back to get the engine and engine crane in for tonight.

Was close to my toolbox:

made the garage a good bit bigger though.

>>>>>

well thats todays progress, i didnt like the black at all, i think silver is much better, forgot to do the underside of the gearbox though:( So tommorrow ill paint that and give the rest of it another coat of paint.

>>>>

well todays progress. quite alot actually.

gman came round and we made a start fitting the engine.

While i was waiting on him arriving i made use of my time by detarring the fuel lines, the fuel tank and one side of the car:eek:

got the car up in the air:

the engine:

car meets engine:

all bolted in:

its this low without a bumper on:
:!

It doesnt run yet coz i havent got the fuel pump off gregor yet, and it isnt bolted in fully because i lost the bolts that go through the gearbox mount into the chassis. Wee trip down to vauxhall tomorrow is required i think.

Need to sort something out with regards to a fan aswell as it wont fit when we put the manifold on, had to cut it off, lol.

been offered v6 brakes with 4 stud discs and braided hoses for £100, its tempting but they wont fit behind the gsi alloys, so ill need to buy the cav gsi alloys.
