hey all im new on here, just after some advice really, ive been offered a corsa b with a red top conversion, it all looks good except on first start it wont idle and rev counter jumps up to 6-7k rpm after a few reves itll hunt from 850-1300rpm and when it finds its idle it will idle lumpy.
also there is a spot of oil in the coolant tho the gasket has been done and the head has been pressure tested. any ideas?

air leak somewhere,

id drain coolant and oil, flush it all thought and see if it returns could just be

leftovers from before gasket

sounds like a leak where the rubber induction hose goes onto the throttle body. will get the boy to flush it, what about the porous head syndrome?

mine used to be like that i just cleaned the idle valve out prob solved.does the bloke have any proof of the gasket an test?

yeah he has. its a very small amount of oil in the coolant but he said the gasket didnt go last time just rebuilt it all before fitted the engine in, what can be done if the head has gone porous?
