pretty much as above just sorting out the little probs, instsalled new headunit and when the radio is on the date doesnt appear on the mfd the time and temp do as always but just when the radio is on the date does not appear, what is causing this? i have swapped the red and yellow wire on the harness(so it saves the stations and settings - thats fine) but this was happening before that today as well

It would usually state CD track or radio station when the cd player is on, because you dont have a standard cd player it cant read that info, so is blank. nothing is broken

ah ok then its not a big problem just thought i would ask incase it may have been a problem . date re appears when im playing a cd or put ipod in so i will just live with it

You can cut a wire between the head unit and MFD, which makes the date stay on permanently. Can't remember which one though.

Grey and red wire from stereo plug goes to display, cut that and date will be displayed constantly

sorted grey/red wire it was cut it taped the end and tucked away - happy bunny .. until something else breaks haha
