[Clutch]

Just thought id start a thread of what you like and dislike about your corsa generally, could be quite interesting, here mine.

LIKES
looks, even now it still looks the part, good looking car
Cost, at the time i bought it was cheap and cheerful, good price
Reliability, hasnt let me down (touch wood) with nothing gone wrong,
comfort, seats are nice and comfy and keep u put
Heaters, can get stupidly hot lol, and work really good compared to every other car iv been in.
Fuel consumption, if driven with care i can get good figures.

DISLIKES
Lack of grip and road holding, doesn't feel solid (my biggest issue about the car) severe understeering at normal speeds
Lack of power, painfully slow, overtaking almost not a possibility or needs "advanced planning" lol
Uneven acceleration
hard gear changes when cold
Heavy front tyre wear, i dont wheel spin etc before you say
You need to slam it to get into first gear while your moving lol, seems to be difficult to push in.
Rattling trim, really annoying when you dont know where it comes from and have no music on

Only let me down twice, that was sorted easily at the garage, hasn't let me down since.
comfort, seats are nice and comfy and keep u put
Heaters, can get stupidly hot lol, and work really good compared to every other car iv been in.
Fuel consumption, if driven with care i can get good figures.
Seems to be more stable than my old car!

DISLIKES
Understeering on occasion
Force for 1st gear if not completly stationary

can i just add that they make it difficult to get into first on purpose so you dont **** your gearbox you dont need first any other time than setting off from standstill, use 2nd

Likes
Still looks good, even when compared to modern stuff,
nearly endless modify-ability,
standard engines are quite tuneable, yet forgiveable,
Interior seems larger compare to modern hatchbacks,
Easy access to most serviceable parts and generally reliable,
simple to service,
Dislikes
Cronic understeer, particularly when not on-throttle and mid corner,
softly-sprung front suspension from standard,
off-centre steering wheel can be a pain sometimes,
handbrake cables need adjustment nearly every service, its pathetic at best,
seats could be more comfortable,
tractor gearboxes shift more smoothly than these near freezing conditions.

Im happy with the way it looks, even compared to some newer cars, considering its age.
Cost £800 for me to buy and i havent had any problems with it that i havent caused myself (touch wood)
Interior is larger than alot of new cars
Cheap to modify, well ot a certain degree
Dislikes
For some reason im gettin about 35 to the gallon from my 1.2 8v
Interior rattles and feels flimsy (although the fact that the whle things bin stripped and redone doesnt help..
Standard seats are horrible, but sport ones are nice

looks, the subtle changes from the standard corsa without being over the top and not making it stick out
love the interior, nice and dark even the fact the car was made in 95 still looks up to date
handlings ok, traction lol what traction but its part of the fun with having the bigger engine

Likes:
fuel consumption (although its suddenly using loads)
looks nice
pretty spacious inside
leather interior

Dislikes:
strange creaking noises everynow and again
fair few ratles inside car
leather seats are cold on winter mornings (getting heated elements in seats wired up soon )

Likes:
nice to look at
spacious
always starts first time
engine (ecotec's)

Dislikes:
front tyre wear
seats in the old sports are rough
annoying when they have problems

Corsa C:

Likes:
The Irmscher and Steinmetz range available.
Parts and service parts cost me next to nothing.
Felt surprisingly comfortable and solid inside for a Vauxhall.

Dislikes:
The Gear linkage is made of cheese.
Sri Mirrors stolen too easily, sold for lots of money.
Really felt the close range SXi gearbox could've done with a 6th gear
