1999 Corsa B 1.0ltr:
if its a nice day tomorrow I am going to try and have a look at my pollen filter and see if it needs a new one (if there is one in there that is) so off come the wiper blades and the air intake grille. I wonder if there is one in there if it has ever been changed at all? a lot of the time they are overlooked are they.

Before you take the wipers off, put masking tape on the windscreen along the wipers, so that when you put them back on, you can line them up in the right position ;)

I'd recommend taking wipers and scuttle panel off. Two bolts on the wiper arms and they lift off, two bolts on scuttle panel and it unclips. Once they're off there's just a plastic covering sitting onto of where the filter goes. Lift that up. Replace filter. Done. 20mins max and that's being slow.

Leaving the wipers on would be more hastle than it's worth.

yeah Dave reckon I will take wipers off now, at least with the whole scuttle panel off I can clear any crud and dirt that's bound to be accumulated on the bulkhead and check the wiper linkages for lubrication and all that

OK I tackled the job today and took off the wipers and the scuttle panel - Have taken out the pollen filter. Have no replacement but I think I might leave it out, all other cars I have had before haven't had a pollen/cabin filter fitted before and it was fine. I cant see no problem without fitting one, can anyone else? and the car hasnt got air conditioning unit either.

Here is a picture of the pollen filter I removed:

And here is a pictorial step by step of me getting to the Pollen filter:

allright you got your own view no need to get nasty about it ! - I have got sense loads of it, and if i have driven all my previous cars for years without any pollen filters fitted as standard with no problems why should I worry about fitting one to the corsa?

Im fairly sure EVERY car has a filter of some sort for the air feed into the cabin. Alot of them are inside the car, behind the dash. I highly doubt ANY car would be manufactured without one, what if you drive on a dusty road, a dirt track, through sand on roadworks, it'll come inside the car, lmao.

Right, I have owned escorts, Seat Ibiza 2000, Nissan Micra 1999, fiat punto 2000 all without air conditioning. Whenever I have searched these cars - guess what no cabin Filter fitted. I asked in Nissan dealers about one for Micra and he said no k11's fitted with pollen filter only if you had aircon fitted to the car. - blimey it aint like we are driving on the dusty outback of Australia  it aint gonna kill ya not having one jeez! :palm:

I wasn't being nasty. I could just see no logic, they're cheap, and yours has caught loads of dirt.

You're now getting argumentative, if you dent want people to comment on situation, why
Mention what you've done?
