Good morning all,

I am after some knowledge, something i am lacking at the moment.

There are a few items on my GSi motor that I am putting into a merit that I am not really to sure where they go or what they do, really should have taken more notice when I was taking the engine out…. :banghead:

I'll have a look around my engine bay in morning for you. It's a sport (x16xe) but they're practically identicle. First plug maybe for the air mass sensor or whatever it's called. It's located on your intake pipe.

that is the right answer! good job still had the old inlet pipe hanging around!

any other takers for the other bits?

I've attached a pic of the second pipe (map sensor iirc) on mine, the vacuum pipe goes from the sensor in this pic:

into the inlet area below what appears to be a fuel pipe.

I'm not sure if that helps but let me know either way.

I had a look today and can say I'm confident I may have solved your problems.
The two vacuum pipes you posted, one goes to the secondary air pump which you probably won't have, and don't need (see picture, mine has a bolt jammed in it), the other one goes up to the piping near the intake manifold, which then connects to another pipe which goes into the bulkhead. I've highlighted them all in red so you can see them.

Also with regards to the big switch you have, that also plugs into the secondary air pump, but again is not needed so just tape it up or leave it as it is. You can see in one of the pics that mine is unplugged and left alone.
