please help and take it easy on me.....i have a corsa B that im currently modifying....all was well until i purchased some new side mirrors with indicators built in....the instructions said that i basically had to fit the mirrors to the car which ive done and the wiring should be connected to the side indicators....with me so far??? well anyway i tried this and after blowing a few fuses have got kind of stuck....my indicators now wont work at all whenever i try to just put the left or the right indicators on i get the light on my dash but it doesnt flash....whats worse is whenever i put my hazards on i have a really dodgy almost like a grinding sound coming from my fuse box.....im a little confused as the rest of the electrics all work perfect....has anybody else had similar experience or can somebody help me fix this problem??

kind of wishing i never bothered trying to connect the indicators now but i have and now im in a pickle as i cant drive anywhere because i have no indicators....oh and this isnt just my side indicators its also the front and the back....i hope somebody can make sense of this and help me

i apologise if this doesnt make sense but i dont know how else to explain it

thanks in advance 4 any help that u can give me :D

Grinding sound means that my first thought is a definate cause of the problem mate. Your relay is kaput. Did you wire the light in series or parallel?

Should be relay number 2. Put your hand on it and put the hazard switch on. If you can feel that 'grinding' (should really be more of a clicking/whirring/slight buzz coming from it) then its dead.
If its working properly, you should hear/feel the normal 'clicking' that happens when you indicate.

When you say you tried that, do you mean you tried replacing the relay or tried putting your hand on it?

Maybe there is too much wattage for the relay to pass through. Try removing a couple of indicator bulbs but leave the sing mirrors indicators connected and put the hazard switch on. see if that works.
If it does, you could think about running another relay from the indicators in place and wire your new additional indicators through to the new relay.

right i think i got it now....when i was messin about with them b4 i threaded wire through i only connected the lights from mirrors but after ive threaded wires through i connected both the lights from mirror and the side indicator and now you said i might have too much wattage it makes sense(i hope) so i think this is whats caused the blow...am i making sense?? i am 2 me lol sorry if i aint 2 you. im gonna go get a new hazard light thingy tomorrow and try that(thats were the blow occured i think) hopefulli that sorts the buzzing out and i can use my indicators again.....i think next time im just gonna stick with the indicators on my mirrors as apposed to side indicators(will look better anyway!!!)

thanks for your help mate hope this "post" hasnt completely confuzzled you....will post again soon 2 let yo know the outcome(hopefully all will be good and well by then)

If a relay, especially one from a vehicle cant draw enough power through, it will act funny and not work. Basically, what ever is connected to it (in this case the bulbs) will try to draw the current so fast that the relay cant keep up and kind of 'panics' and wont be able to power anything.

If this is the case mate, just connect another relay to the existing indicators and wire the new indicators to that
