Hiya, I'm just wondering about racing cams. I've been told they will increase the power on my car, but I have no idea how or where to go about getting some. Can anybody help?
Most places will sell fast road cams. I think an option is piper road cams. You will probably need to get them fitted by a professional though as they are not easy to fit and set up.
and more mods, headwork too, polished and ported depending on the engine solid lifters, verner pulleys are adjustable to so you need them set up to get the best out them
im after some cams too i think as im debaiting wether to get the rally look out of my corsa, building a close ratio gearbox in work so think cams will be nice, are there any other sites apart from pipercams?
Its advisable also do other mods like mmvcorsa said so you get the best performance out of them, its not just a simple bolt on extra power job, there is a bit more to it than that
cams are are great idea for more power but don't go silly because you may have to push start your car if you get race cams as they open the chamber for too long for road use. This because of the idle speed you create being lumpy and more than likely pink or stall on start up. i could go in to why but its just bet to say...
get the cams approved for road use unless you intend to go on the track. a cam re profile can be just as good and a cheap alternative.
