previous owner bent it to fit aftermarket head unit i take the unit out today and the little bits on my hand fall out, and a thin wire is exposed- what do i do guys?! will it still work or do i need to get a specialist to repair it which equals more money , i have been told that i need to solder the thin wire to a new connector? anyone shed any light?

can just see the wire there it runs through the middle of the aerial

No point soldering a new bit of metal on it mate - more hassel than its worth and will end up breaking withing minutes.

Instead, goto a breakers yard, and get a new cable - should cost under £5.

It runs from the back of the head unit to the passenger footwell
