I’ve had this issue on an off for a few years since having an aftermarket stereo professionally fitted. Several trips to the garage, auto electric specialist and halfords later the fault quickly reappeared.
Solution - disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, wait a few minutes and reconnect. Everything is back on! saw this on another site and thought I’d share as it worked for me.
