Hi guy's! Need help, my corsa c is making a horrible ticking/tapping noise from the engine I've been told it could be the timing chain and that it can be very expensive to replace! Can some one tell me what'could be making this noise and how I could repair it? Cheers!

would help to know which engine you have, rough idea where noise is coming from etc also maybe a vid and if someone is saying its the timing chain why do you need to ask what it could be?

You can use either a mechanic's stethoscope or a metal bar / big screwdriver to track down the source of the noise.
