Hi folks

Just about to start putting the head back on wifey's 1.0L Agila at last after getting all the parts required and just been reading the Haynes manual again and it says I need some silicon sealant part no. 90-543-772 (or equivalent).

What I would like to know is this a special silicon sealant or can I use general purpose stuff (bathroom sealer) or even sikaflex or Loctite 518 Flange sealant for aluminium parts, or do i need to use the right stuff (or equivalent) and should I be able to get some from my local Motorfactor?

thats toyota black sealant. there is nothing better. ebay is your friend.

Bathroom sealant isn't useable - or Sikaflex.

Let us know how you get on - the last time I asked for a tube of engine sealant at our local Toyota parts counter they guy said it was £70!
