Hi there, i would probably start by cleaning the throttle plate, or butterfly valve what ever you want to call it, but be careful, remove the electrical plug first, take the air hose off and you will see it, its worked electrical, so mind you fingers, make sure ignition is off and plug removed, you should be able to open it manually carefully, then get some carb cleaner or brake cleaner etc...spray it on a clean piece of clean rag and clean all aroud inside the hole...also try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and reconnecting it, sometimes resets things....could the noise be the exhaust?...from Fred in Essex.
