mk3 astra saloon

well I bought the car not long ago, as the advert seem promising. but as I'm sure we all know most people lie through there teeth. but I bought the car anyway as it was cheep enough. £440 with a years mot and 6 months tax. mechanically the car seems great, brakes are good runs well. But it's just the body work that's letting it down. Driver's side rear arch, around the rear bumper and a few dints and scratches. So yeah, rate and or slate my boat

mods so far - momo steering wheel, omega wiper stalk, my cd player and flat wiper blades.

it needs a bloody good clean but that will happen once I have space back on the drive.

well the car had some pampering today, took the front seats out and had the carpets wet vacked and the plastics cleaned. its a much nicer place to be in now. and the engine bay was steam cleaned , still dirty but much better than it was

after:

smells much nicer now too! :)

thats porn  love it, i want to turbo it, once the body work is sorted.

little update:

had a trip down to vboa today with a few mates, got some good deals and a fair few bits for the loon.
got a brand new strut brace for £15 witch i didnt think was bad, and i think it looks good. got a gsi bonnet for £13.40 paint is shit, and one corner is a little funny but when its painted it will be fine. got loads of other little bits, electric window switchs, electric sunroof kit, clear indicators and more.

bonnet and strut brace on:

not got a image of the bonnet yet, will get one sorted later :)

bought a few goodies for the astra since the last update.
manage to find some new old SPAX stock someone local was selling for £70 so I snapped that up. appart from the tatty box there brand new, never been on a car.
think they will give a 35-40 mm drop.
also bought some service bits, and hopefully if the weathers okay tomorrow that will get done before work.
oh, and I bought some vectra sri 4 stud wheels from a mate of mine.

new rad hose, header tank, air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, spark plugs, oil, coolant, engine flush and a new top hose and the current one has been boded with tape lol

today i took the boot carpet out and spare wheel to have a look what condition the boot floor was in. then i gave it a quick wipe down.

hole behind the bumper

and another lol

after a wee wipe

my last car 'cavalier saloon' was lowered 75mm front and 50mm rear that sat lovely and the ride well i was use to it haha.
so i'm not to sure how im going to feel about a 35mm drop, can hardly notice it. but i suppose it will handle a lot better?

managed to service the astra today too, oil was black, still had a crusty gm fuel filter on it, witch i dont think was even doing anything, as when i tipped it up brown fuel was coming out of it nice.

this was the bodged top hose

and brown header tank, bought a new one. but it had 3 outlets on it. so i've blanked one off im sure i will need the 3rd when it has a new engine put in
