Sorry, sure this has been done to death but...
Facelift 1.2 easytronic active c, 4 door
Bought with the problem so no background to when, where etc etc.
Fob won't work
Car battery fully charged
Key fob battery changed
Car etc all working fine
Key to position 2 key fob syncs, you hear lots of doors etc locking and unlocking from fob controls in sync mode
Take key out and no response to buttons, not quite true, once it worked to lock car by passenger front door but nothing since
Key in drivers door lock locks and unlocks all openings
Any clues? Help
So for me, fob syncs with car when in lock position 2 but nothing else
Don't know the car but if you pushed down drivers door lock button, it should lock everything, it doesn't.

Bit of a funny one, if it helps, normally the key is made of 2 parts, the bit that operates the central locking and the other bit that doesnt require and power that operates the imobilzer or staring and running system...have you tried another key, sounds like an electrical fault to me, maybe broken wires in door etc...you may need to get the key reprogrammed at dealer...from Fred in Essex
