Hello,
I was wondering if anybody could help me - Heres the problem :
Upon a cold start up my car ticks over fine however when you initially set off the car struggles to gain any engine power at all. The problem is so bad that even with your foot flat to the floor in 1st or 2nd the car will NOT go above 10mph. After is struggling for about 1-2 minutes the engine suddenly finds some power and drives like normal for the remainder of the trip. However the problem can be rectified by revving my engine hard for about 1-2 minutes before i set off.
The problem used to be so severe that the car was not driveable and upon starting the engine the car would loose electronic power and stall. As a result I took the car to my local mechanic who changed the crank sensor, the car now drives fine apart from the issue I described the first paragraph.
I have also taken the car to a second mechanic who cant figure out why theres a loss of power on a cold start up. This mechanic cleaned my lambent sensor (I think its called that) and refitted it, putting the problems down to "poor quality supermarket fuel messing with my fuel filters" His advise was to finish my half a tank of petrol and then fill up using BP super unleaded and see how I get along (havent done this yet)
Does anybody have any sort of idea what would be causing this problem? Im reluctant to keep paying garage bills when they are not finding the route of the problem.
This is my first post so thanks in advance to anybody whos read it and can give me any help!
