Can anyone recommend anything to restore paint to it's former glory?

At the moment one wing is a brighter (newer looking) green than the rest of the car.

Any ideas?

very strong version of T-Cut "X3, G3" go to halfords and ask.

it also gets rid of shallow scratches

Do not buy one of those Halfords buffer things, they are crap. They are not intented for Correction work(which you require), only for removing polish/wax residue from your bodywork, a job which you'd probably do better by hand anyway. As mentioned above you need a decent cutting compound, then polish and wax over it.

If you want off the shelf stuff, try Autoglym Paint Renovator followed by Autoglym Super Resin Polish. Work it in nice and hard by hand and see what results you get.
