Hi Forum,

had the water pump bearing play up so removed the cambelt and wanted to get it out, BUT, the beast is stuck, heat-shrinked into its seat. Engine is cold of course- after I removed all the other stuff around it. tried ice spray but with no success. It's soaked in WD40 now but not sure if it really helps.
Tried to hammer it loose but there are only perhaps two angles from where one can hammer it. Not enough to "wiggle" it out.
Any idead from other painful experiences?
Last option is to just destroy the piece. After all it's very refractory aluminium...
But there might be an elegant way still, or not?

Try some PlusGas on it - but they often corrode in solid and if you got one where the tolerances were on the limit they can be a tight fit in the first place. In which case brute force is sometimes the only solution.
