Yeah its bad luck about yours :( Hopefully not, drove the 135 miles back no problems though :D

Looks a very tidy base for a good project, i'd love a black corsa.
Yeah i really wanted a black one, so was a 5 hour round trip to get this one :p but so worth it.

Just bought the HEKO wind deflectors off Ebay, so they should be here and fitted in the week :D

Plan of attack tomorrow is to;
- Give the car a good wash
- Fit Punto Wiper
- Debadge
- Fit side reps

And anything else i can be bothered to do.

Gave the car a wash today, didn't get any pictures really as it started to rain afterwards

Washing it revealed a few scratches and imperfections, namely the scratches around the DS door handle, the reaction type marks on the front wing and the stone chips on the bonnet, as you can see in the pictures. Most of the scratches should come out with my rotary polisher and the dents, reaction and the stone chips will be sorted at the body shop.

Also fitted my side repeaters and fitted my punto wiper. I think I might change the side reps to darker ones, as they are a bit too clear for the black paint.

Then I hit a problem... Tried out the rear wiper to make sure it was on properly and nothing. So I tried the rear washer to see if that would kick the wiper into moving and again nothing happened, so I held the rear washer down a bit longer, looked behind me and it was pissing into the car through the boot trim  so I took the rear trim out to see where the pipe was broken, and it wasn't broken up to the boot lid, so I took the wire/washer pipe grommet out and found this...

Image

Pretty much all the wires had been cut, as well as the rear washer pipe  so this explains why the rear wiper wasn't working when I tried it earlier, so I soldered all the wires back together and wrapped them up in sparky tape and it all works now, apart from the rear washer.

I also started to debadge the car, and then remembered how much of a depressing job it is. I tried tar remover, hot water, petrol but the majority of it wasn't shifting, so I am going to wait and get a caramel wheel in the week to remove it.

Any comments?

I'd go for darker side repeaters as well, they look almost clear.
Punto rear wiper looks ok, but looks a bit too small to be practical as well.
Black paint always shows imperfections easier, but it's got hardly any compared to mines haha.
Rear washer pipe and wires cut would be annoying as hell, but at least the wiring is sorted now

I used a heatgun and white spirit and elbow grease to remove mines (badges that is)

Yeah the photo doesn't help the colour of the side reps, they aren't that clear but are still too clear for the car.

And yeah, no idea why the wires were cut in the first place... There is no damage to the grommet so it means the had to take it out, cut the wires and put it back in. Very strange

Oh yeah, forgot about that stuff, i'll grab some from Halfords tomorrow if i get time.

Do the wheels white ;)
Not a fan of Veccy SRi's in white, i love the colour of mine so that's the colour they will be staying at the mo :thumbs_up:

I tried heating it up, was really tough :( Doesnt matter, that sticky stuff remover should do the trick, if not a caramel wheel sure will.

Just went outside and took my bootlock surround off to start preparing it for paint, just found 2 tins of plastic primer in my room :p

Update!

Got back from college early today so decided to fit my Chrome Vectra door handles. Finished those fairly quickly so decided to do my airbox as well, while the car was out of its parking bay. Last time, on my red 1.2, I drilled and derestricted it and didn't notice much (there was a little) sound improvement so this time I decided to just cut the entire thing off :D and derestrict and it sounds awesome! Really throaty and rumbles through the revs, so I am a happy bunny

I keep getting bored, so keep nipping out to do some more on the car, pitch black or not :p

Swapped over the MFD with the red LEDs in from my 1.2 to my Sport and vice versa with the MFD with the standard bulbs in. Pictures arent great, iPhones are crap at night but gives you an idea :)

It's on the side opposite the engine, so doesn't suck in any hot air and it is below the filter. It's the same as drilling it, but i didn't have the drill at home, but had a saw. Its all good :)

#41 ·
Yeah it's fine :)

Also...

Just ordered new, darker side repeaters and 2x Allcorsa.co.uk stickers from Samo

Nothing really happened today, long day at college but I put my Blasingring sticker on. Had one on my red 1.2 as well. It's an outline of the Basingstoke Ring Road where I live in the style of the Nurburgring stickers :D

Also, took full advantage of the Halfords sale today and bought their Halfords Professional 120pc socket sets today and it's fantastic. Everything i need, and a lifetime warrenty on everything in the box. Was ÂŁ100 off but still cost me ÂŁ89.99.

Its brilliant, has pretty much everything you need, apart from a breaker bar which I might have to buy separately.

They also have an offer on their cabinets. If you buy the base, you get the mid section free IIRC. Very nearly bought one, but was still ÂŁ250 don't have :p

Early day at college today so went and got a new air filter and new NGK sparks. As you can see from the pictures below, they really needed changing

Also, Team HEKO wind deflectors arrived this morning so went about putting them on. What a ****ing palaver!!!

They do not like electric windows in the slightest, so I phoned LMF and asked if I could return them. He told me that the Vauxhall anti-trap system on the electric windows learns when there is something in the way; you just have to jiggle it about enough so that window will go up once and it will remember. I didn't really believe it but thought it was worth a try and lo and behold, it works! Drivers one was fairly quick, passenger took a little longer but they are both in and everything is working :D
