hi, my dad is a mechanic and should find a way of fitting the turbo for me. But i/we don't know what turbo to fit and any extra items to the car in order to turbo it out. i have a corsa 1.2sxi 16v T-reg (1999). any advice will be much appreciated

in basic terms you will need to lower the compression, use some sort of mangement or as a quick fix used a RR fpr with slightly larger injectors, oil feed and return, turbo, manifold, boost pipes and intercooler/chargecooler, and thats just a very basic list.

likely turbo to use would be a t25 which you can find standard on quite a few cars and are reasonably cheap, and lowering the compression can be done with a decompression plate, different pistons, or machining the pistons in there currently.

you will need management if your planning on any sort of decent power output, unless your mainly just wanting to say 'i have a turbo' then you can run very little boost with an uprated fpr and injectors.

If you do it basically then my advice would be to get a decent oil temperature/pressure gauge along with a air/fuel guage /wideband to keep an eye on things so if you do come close to doing damage on standard management and internals you have a chance of seeing a problem before actually melting a piston etc.

From what I've read on other forums about turboing small engined cars you're best of using the turbo from something like a 306 hdi? they use a T2 turbo iirc

But to be honest, the amount it's going to cost you to do it and then all the work involved, you'd be better of just buying a bigger engine and dropping it in!

Search the tinterweb for dbilas, they do turbo kits for all sorts.

theres a guy on sax-p with the username Sophia Bush and he currently has a Pug 106 1.1 turbo'd and says it keeps up with all sorts but like lee said... the hamster(engine) dies quickly.

Would rather have a 1.6 much more reliable much more power than the 1.2

As Lee said dbilas did/do a turbo conversion for the 1.2. Seen a few C's with the conversion done and some put out some real power but the conversion isnt cheap even if you do the work yourself. As mentioned you could probably create your own conversion using a mismatch of different components but would still expect a decent cost. For the money you could quite easily stick a 20xe in there and have 150bhp without and problems at all. If your dad is a mechanic the conversion should be simple for him to do and cost under ÂŁ500.
